A moment I enjoyed with my family(CA1 second posting)

Today is my mother’s birthday; I and my sister have already planned a surprise for her. Now the only difficulty is how we get her to leave the house long enough to set up everything? With that thought in mind, I entered my mother’s car and started cracking my head for ideas all the way home. Just as I entered the front door, an idea popped up in my head.
However, the idea required some sacrifice on my part. Gathering my courage, I asked,” mom, I need a A3 sized paper for my image board, I got to pass it up tomorrow. Could you help me to go and buy?” I braced myself for the explosion and as expected in came right on time. She yelled, “What! You tell me only after we have reached home! No way am I not driving out again!” Fortunately after much begging and pleading, she gave in and went out.
The moment the door closed, I quickly told my sister to bring out the decoration and we immediately started decorating the house. After what seemed like an eternity, we managed to decorate the house so that it looked more like a birthday party. Just as I placed the last of the decorations into place, I heard the keyhole start to turn. Panicking, we dashed to our hiding positions and switched off the light. As the door opened, we jumped out and said,” Surprise!” my mother who was speechless for words just smiled and hugged us as we proceeded to bring out the cake…
