Now, when I was your age, I still remember the first day I went to school. I still remember how I felt on that day. A mixture of feelings flowed through me. It was partly fear and excitement as I left my mother’s protective arms and entered the huge and daunting school. The very walls seemed to stretch on forever. Many other students walked around me. Some as tall as giants and some just like my height. Every one of them just kept walking towards their destination not a single one of them was paying any attention to me.
I walked step by step heading to my classroom, thinking what type of teacher I would have for my form teacher. Brief images of a very fierce and horrible-looking teacher flashed through my mind. She was small and plump, she scanned the class with her small beady eyes. On her chin was a humongous hairy mole which seemed to be saying, “Come on laugh, I dare you.” Resting on her long nose was a pair of spectacles which frames were square in shape which only helped to shrink her minute eyes even further. Her silver white hair was tied up in a bun which did no good in making her seem taller. On the contrary it seemed to only re-emphasize her miniscule body. Her mouth twisted into a sinister snarl as she sat there behind her desk before addressing me with venomous poison in her voice, “welcome to your worst nightmare! Ha-ha!” it was only then that it dawned on me. I had reached my classroom. I started to feel scared and even considered leaving the school and going home instead, but at that very moment a very sweet voice spoke, “Whoever is outside please enter.” It was too late, thus I gathered my courage and stepped into the door.
To my almost surprise, the voice that spoken was belong to a young and pretty teacher sitting on the desk. She wore a sweet smile on her face, her white teeth shining brightly under the classroom light. Her silky long black hair was trailing the length of her back before stopping midway. She was the exact opposite of what I imagined. Lifting a hand, she beckoned me towards her and said friendly, “What your name?” “Marcus.” I replied shyly. “Well Marcus why don’t you go and sit right beside Cheng Song. It is on the second back row on the right.” I turned around scanning briefly before spotting my target, an empty sit on the second row at the back. I walked with renewed enthusiasm on towards my sit. As I lowered myself into my sit, the boy next to me said, “Hi, I‘m Cheng Song. Do you play neopets?” Smiling at him, I said, “Yes I do.” I knew immediately that I and Cheng Song would be the best of friends. I smiled to myself thanking myself for not deciding to run back home again. I know that I would like this school.
